ETHALON presents ARGOS 2.6 at HRM Expo 2009

ETHALON will present the extended Version 2.6 of its Workforce Management software ARGOS from 22-24 September 2009 at the HRM Expo in Cologne, Germany. In accordance with the Expo's motto "future-oriented human resource management", ETHALON will demonstrate how ARGOS can be used to optimize workforce management planning (Stand C12, Hall 4.1.).

ETHALON ARGOS 2.6: Clear planning tables and simple operation

Future-oriented workforce management must be flexible in order to keep step with change. Simple and adaptable software can make a great contribution to the clear and efficient planning of personnel resources.

Exhibiting at Europe's largest HR expo, the Hamburg IT company ETHALON will demonstrate how optimization of workforce deployment with continual cost control and automatic planning validation can be achieved with its ARGOS solution. The new ARGOS Version 2.6 includes a shift planning module which production industry and call centers can use to easily organize their staffing requirements.

User acceptance is decisive for the successful implementation of electronic workforce management planning. The less complicated an application is to operate, and the greater the similarity it has with familiar web-based software, the easier it is for the user to get to grips with. The development focus of ARGOS Version 2.6 was facilitation of simpler planning steps. Further modifications have been made to the user interface so that the users with little computer terminal experience can plan intuitively. The application has also been extended with an e-learning module and context-sensitive help functionality.

"The complexity of the planning algorithms is hidden from the user. Even inexperienced users can plan quickly and attain an optimal planning result with the intuitive user interface", explains Andrea Spranger, Project Leader at ETHALON.

ARGOS is also offered with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) licencing model: "The SaaS model provides customers with online access to the ARGOS standard application via internet browser. Customers save fixed investments in hard and software. The hosting provider takes on maintenance, support and central data back-ups tasks for a fixed monthly fee", says Sebastian Neil Hölken, Sales Manager at ETHALON.
