Use of mobile devices (PDAs) on the shopfloor can save the walk to the till or to the backoffice PC: dialog with the customer is not interrupted whilst staff check stock availability or reserve an item for the customer. The basis for reliable information is real-time data transfer. For example, current stock level data and accurate controlling reports are available to the entire store network.
